Meet the maker
Hi, I'm Ash, the hands behind AC Woodwork.

Everything I make begins with the same idea: handmade, recycled, and sustainable. My timber is recycled from burn piles, reclaimed from demolished houses and farm sheds, and saved from the offcut and scrap bin, then given a new life by me. Built to last and to be enjoyed by many, it means each piece carries a bit of history, and nothing goes to waste.
Wooden bowties
Individually crafted in my workshop, each bowtie is shaped to highlight the natural grain and character of the wood. Because that grain is unique to every piece of timber, no two are ever the same. Custom timber, matching sets for a bridal party, or your own fabric centre knot are all possible.
Hand carved spoons
A true passion of mine, spoon carving is the roots, heart and soul of AC Woodwork. Each one is carved by hand, so like everything I make, no two are alike. Making something beautiful, something as simple as a spoon, is where my true creativity shines. I hope you love them as much as I do.
Wall art and wood pieces
Using some of the most amazing recycled timber, I dress and clean each piece that goes into my wall art. Does it start pretty? No. Each piece is twisted, warped, dirty, cracked and nailed. After hours of clean up, cutting and gluing, I love being able to showcase timber in a completely different light, in a way that prompts conversation and warms a space.
Learn to carve
My passion for carving is shown in abundance when I teach spoon carving. With no skills or experience needed, I can support you to learn to carve your own spoon as a one off event, or as a gateway experience to a lifetime of carving. Individual work or groups, you will find my workshops to be a comfortable and supportive place. There's something grounding about shaping a spoon from raw timber with your own hands, and I love sharing that.
Whether you're after a one of a kind piece, a custom commission, or a spot in a workshop, I'd love to hear from you. Message me any time to talk through an idea.
